David Koch is a Board Certified Estate Planning and Administration Specialist and a Board Certified Taxation Specialist with a practice focusing in wills and estate planning, probate, federal taxation, and business transactions.
David is presently serving as the Secretary of the Louisiana State Bar Tax Law Advisory Commission, and has served as the Chair of the Examination Committee for Board Certification in Taxation in 2006-2007. He is admitted to practice before the courts in Louisiana and the United States Tax Court. He has been a featured speaker on estate planning, Louisiana probate law, trusts, and federal taxation issues for Continuing Legal Education programs and professional organizations throughout Louisiana.
David was born in Beaumont, Texas on June 23, 1967. He graduated from Catholic High School of Baton Rouge in 1985 and received his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University in 1989.
Prior to his attending law school, David worked in the Tax Department of Ernst & Young, a Big-8 accounting firm, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
David received his law degree from Louisiana State University in 1994 and received his L.L.M. in Taxation from Boston University in 1995, where he graduated first in his class.
David was a member of the Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class of 2000 and was named as one of Baton Rouge's "Top Forty under Forty" in 2004.
David is an active member of Rotary. He serves as the Board Treasurer of the Louisiana Resource Center for Educators and serves on the planned giving committees for Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and Alzheimer's Services of the Capital Area.
David is married to the former Tracey Riegel of New Orleans, Louisiana and has two children - Jon David and Maggie.
